Indian brides are reinventing wedding fashion and we love every little bit of it. From the switch to normal lehengas, saris are very important. And if you love saris over lehengas, you should see this gorgeous bride who gave up the lehenga for a simple saree, but her traditional choice has made people fall in love with her!
We came across the wedding pictures of the graphic designer Dipannita Dutt at the designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and we can’t believe the beauty of the radiant bride’s wedding saree.
Dipannita Dutt looked like an absolute vision on her wedding day as she dressed in a traditional Dhakai sari. The timeless traditional weave of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla is said to be expertly embroidered with sequins and handmade gold lace. A sleeveless blouse made from zardozi and stone added a modern twist to the traditional look of the bride. Dipannita outfitted the ensemble with her mother’s traditional Bengali jewelry and we loved every piece of her real look.
What is a Dhakai? It is a type of curtain made of cotton. The name comes from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, where this type of sari is usually made.
The saree, formerly known as Jamdani, is making a comeback among saree connoisseurs.
If you love simplicity, take a cotton curtain with a touch of gold like Dipannita and shine on the most beautiful day of your life.
We loved Dipannita’s simple saree look. Let us know what you think of this bride’s relatable wedding look in the comments section below.
