Let’s face it, weddings are expensive. But for some lucky A-listers, money isn’t really a problem.

From incredible ceremonies at Westminster Abbey to fairytale weddings in Italy, the super-rich love to make their special day as memorable as possible – and stunts like booking private jets for your entire guest list obviously come at a tremendous price.

But which beloved couples had the most expensive tastes? And how much do famous faces really spend saying “I do” in seriously glamorous places?

Here are some of the most expensive weddings to ever take place …

Let’s start with two of our favorite queens, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding took place in London at Westminster Abbey, and the bill was reportedly a whopping £ 26 million.

On that iconic day, Kate stunned the nation in her stunning Alexander McQueen dress – which alone is said to have cost £ 250,000. According to reports, Kate’s parents were the ones who paid for her beautiful dress, while the royal family covered most of the other expenses.

William and Kate had a pretty big guest list with important members of the royal family – including Queen Elizabeth, of course – rubbing shoulders with famous faces like Sir Elton John and You Had Me singer Joss Stone.

It’s hardly shocking that Kim and Kanye held one of the most lavish weddings seven years before their split was announced.

The couple married in May 2014 in a ceremony that is said to have cost them a staggering £ 2.1 million.

Kim and Kanye made special efforts to fly their guests to Florence, Italy, before being stopped at the stunning 16th-century Forte di Belvedere.

Chrissy Teigen, Serena Williams and Steve McQueen were just a few of the famous friends who joined the couple, and Chrissy’s husband, John Legend, entertained guests with a private performance.

More recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent millions on their special day in May 2018.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were married in front of the cameras at Windsor Castle for a whopping £ 35.1 million.

After the television ceremony, Idris Elba was the DJ for the couple’s private reception. Guests included James Blunt, Oprah Winfrey, and James Corden.

Meghan wowed the world with her stunning custom Givenchy dress by Claire Waight Keller, estimated to have cost an estimated £ 387,000, and paired it with Queen Mary’s tiara.

But the question everyone is talking about is who paid the bill for the royal wedding before Meghan and Harry flew off to live in the US? The royal family paid for the ceremony, including the reception fees and the finishing touches like the incredible flower display.

A statement released by Kensington Palace at the time read: “As with the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the royal family will pay for the core aspects of the wedding, such as the worship service, associated music, flowers, decorations and the reception afterwards. “

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Money wasn’t a problem for singer Justin Timberlake and actress Jessica Biel when they tied the knot in October 2012.

While the day cost less than royal weddings, Justin and Jessica spent a cool £ 4.9 million on their big day.

The couple tied the knot in Puglia, Italy at the stunning Borgo Egnazia Resort in front of guests like Andy Samber, Timbaland and Jimmy Fallon.

Jessica walked down the aisle in a Giambattista Valli haute couture dress while Justin rocked a Tom Ford suit.

However, when it comes to expensive big days, no one can come close to covering the cost of Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ extravaganza.

The 1981 ceremony was watched by an estimated television audience of 750 million people and is believed to have cost a staggering £ 57 million.

Diana’s wedding dress was intricately embroidered with sequins, 10,000 pearls, and ruffled lace, making the dress alone cost £ 11,000.

The couple have also spent a lot of money on their safety. Charles and Diana reportedly spent £ 490,000 on the security of their wedding, which took place in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
