Rough surf dampened a couple’s special day as it was swept at sea while taking wedding photos on the rocks.

Footage of a bride and groom posing on rocks amid the surf on California’s Treasure Island Beach was captured by someone watching the couple’s photoshoot.

As the waves crashed around the couple during the shoot, one particularly large wave swept the couple at sea, the bride in her wedding dress and the groom in a suit.

“Oh my god,” says the person filming when the wave hits the couple.

After watching the waves wash the bride and groom in the Pacific, the witness called for help.

The next part of the video shows the dramatic rescue where lifeguards pull the bride to shore.

On land, two lifeguards can be seen carrying the bride close to the groom. Once the bride is on the floor, she appears to be sitting up straight.

The couple has not been identified, but local news reported that no one was seriously injured.
