The Derbyshire hotel, golf and leisure complex Morley Hayes was named East Midlands Wedding Venue of the Year for the second year running at the I Do Wedding Awards.
The venue on Main Road in Morley beat high-profile venues in the region and won the coveted award, which was presented at a virtual awards ceremony led by radio DJ Stephanie Hirst.
Now in its sixth year, the I Do Magazine Wedding Awards celebrate success and recognize the achievements of wedding providers from the Midlands, Yorkshire and Humberside.
The Best Venue Award honors establishments that have outstanding wedding locations, offer an exceptional wedding experience and place customer satisfaction at the center of their actions.
They are known as “People’s Awards” and are determined solely by the votes of the couples who have personally used their services.
Morley Hayes has been performing wedding ceremonies since 2006. In 2012, the venue was licensed to host outdoor weddings in a specially constructed wedding dome in the picturesque gardens of Morley Hayes.
In 2017, the venue launched its forest wedding service, which allows couples to take their vows among wildflowers and under spectacular towering pines, horse chestnuts, and beeches.
Forest wedding ceremonies take place at a private lodge located in a remote part of the Morley Hayes Forests.
In 2019, The Meadow opened in Morley Hayes – a natural wildflower meadow where the wedding reception can enjoy drinks and canapés after the ceremony. A blessing is also planned in this area.
Andrew Allsop, Managing Director of Morley Hayes, said of being crowned East Midlands Wedding Venue of the Year for the second year running: “We are delighted to have retained our title of Venue of the Year, especially because it was chosen by the couples themselves and not from a jury.
“Whether it’s a wedding reception, a full civil ceremony, or a civil ceremony, our dedicated team of wedding coordinators work hard to create a wedding package that is just as individual as our guests.
“The past 12 months have been challenging for wedding venues across the UK and we look forward to returning to Morley Hayes weddings in the coming months.”
Launched in 2009, I Do Magazine is read by more than 30,000 couples each year and is widely recognized as the definitive guide to finding the best local wedding providers in Yorkshire, Humberside and the Midlands.
