Dundalk Wedding Ring and Carlingford Hotel are among the winners of the 2021 Weddingsonline Awards

The past 12 months have been the toughest in the history of the Irish wedding industry. It has been an extremely busy and stressful time for venues and suppliers as weddings are being postponed due to the current pandemic.

Despite the many problems, industry insiders worked very hard to ensure that those who had the opportunity to celebrate their love and tie the knot could do so with the coveted Weddingsonline Awards, a showcase for those who care stand out from the crowd.

The Weddingsonline Awards are the industry standard and the Oscars for the Irish wedding industry. Two Louth winners were announced yesterday evening among over 40 winners in numerous categories.

Another award went to Ravensdale-based band D-Strings, a string quartet that added the 2021 Wedding Musician Award to their mantle after receiving the 2020 Leinster Wedding Entertainment of the Year award.

D-strings have played together at wedding receptions, ceremonies and other special occasions for over 15 years, offering a wide range of styles ranging from classic to modern, pop and traditional.

Her extensive repertoire of over 500 pieces includes everything from Pachabel’s Canon in D, The Wedding March and Hymns to Metallica, Coldplay and Sweet Child of Mine.

Elsewhere, there was success for the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford, which received the gong for the venue of the year at the Leinster Hotel.

Nestled in the quaint yet quirky medieval village between the mountains and the sea, wedding guests are surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Carlingford Lough and the Cooley and Morne Mountains.

It is the second year the Louth Hotel has won the awards after receiving the Leinster Venue Coordinator of the Year award last year.

“The Weddingsonline Awards recognize the professionalism, commitment, exceptional service and excellent quality of the wedding venues and suppliers,” says Jonathan Bryans from weddingsonline.

“The awards are a rigorous review of wedding providers and venues, and we thank our independent team of judges for their dedication and hard work. We trust this will be the stepping stone to greater success for everyone as we look forward to relaxing the restrictions and doing what we do best. “

The judging panel consisted of Sara Kennedy – Irish Wedding Blog, Blaithin O’Reilly Murphy – retired wedding planner and writer, and Terry Lewis – Wedding Marketing Mastery.
