Mamamoons set up a hotel in Cheshire to help the mother of the newlyweds relieve stress after the wedding.
It’s been a difficult year for brides – and grooms – to be. But as big weddings grow big again, the Alvaston Hall Hotel in Nantwich is also recognizing the brave efforts of the mother of the newlyweds by introducing a service to help them relax after the big day.
After finding that 68 percent of the bride’s mothers felt they deserved a relaxing vacation more than the bride or groom did, Warner Leisure Hotels – which operates 14 adult-only hotels and resorts across the UK – pioneered Mamamoon – Short vacations made to help hard-working mothers take a break after the wedding when the happy couple flies off on their honeymoon.
Mina Fattahi, General Manager of the Alvaston Hall Hotel in Nantwich, said: “It has been so hard to see the number of times the big day has been postponed by couples in the past 18 months, but suffice it to say it is not for mothers of the bride was easy too.
“That’s why we wanted to pay tribute to her heroic achievements – as a shoulder to cry on when appointments are postponed, to organize table plans with military precision and to be the voice of wisdom in the wedding dress shop. It’s certainly not an easy job.
“The unsung heroes of the big day, we certainly underestimate the stress of this important role and it sounds like many of the bride’s mothers in Cheshire need a break.
“That’s why we launched the world’s first ‘Mamamoons’ – a chance for mothers of the bride to put their feet up after the wedding and be served with hands and feet – they definitely deserve it!”
The liquidation packages were announced in response to over a third of the bride’s mothers reporting that they needed a relaxing vacation after the wedding – a whopping 50 percent even said the experience was “extremely stressful.”
Mamamoon breaks include spa access, gin and wine tastings, and free breakfast and dinner for the new mothers-in-law, as well as stress-relieving activities like yoga and archery.
Mamamoon packages start at £ 199 per person and include bed and breakfast, dinner, pool access, activities and entertainment.
