A bride and groom are commended for their actions after stopping their wedding photos to help a man who was hit by a car.

Detention Officer Taylor Rafferty and her deputy husband Chris Rafferty are police officers at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. A man was hit by a car while a photo was being taken of the bride and groom at their wedding reception. The party, fully dressed in their wedding attire, responded and provided assistance to the injured man.

One of the bridesmaids held the man’s head while Rafferty directed the traffic. The viral Facebook post shared, “When you choose a career in law enforcement, you are choosing never to be truly off duty because everything can be happy at any time. Unfortunately, danger and tragedy do not pause, and even on your days off, it is a law enforcement officer’s duty , to do that.” Protect and serve. “

Fortunately, the man was not seriously injured, and after being transported by medics, the events of the wedding continued.
