Planning a wedding looks very different at the age of COVID-19. Atlanta Wedding Extravaganza is hosting a virtual exhibit later this month to showcase some of Atlanta’s top vendors and guide couples through this uncertain time.
City Lights producer Summer Evans spoke to Shelly Danz, the show’s producer, about what to expect.
The first week-long virtual “Atlanta Bridal Extravaganza” took place last July. Danz decided to change the name to “Atlanta Wedding Extravaganza” to better include all couples and individuals.
This year’s virtual exhibition features new vendors, prizes, freebies, and a recorded fashion show. The fashion show took place at the Fox Theater in front of a small live audience and featured new 2021 looks for brides, grooms and attendees. The recorded fashion show will be shown at the fair with descriptions of the clothes, followed by a Q&A with wedding fashion experts.
Due to the pandemic, many vendors have restructured their wedding packages to create more intimate and non-traditional ceremonies.
“They come up with so many fun, unique, and different ideas that they might not have come up if we weren’t stuck in our homes all the time,” said Danz.
She continued, “I think it will be very helpful to these couples when these brides and grooms hear some of these new ideas that they have come up with.”
The show will run from January 23rd to 29th. Further information on the offers and tickets can be found here.
