There’s nothing like a celebrity wedding, right?

These weddings offer insights from the outside – from bespoke couture dresses to celebrity guest lists to chartered private jets. They are usually supposed to undoubtedly impress.

Here we take a look at 10 extravagant weddings we would like to have been invited to:

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

To kick off the celebrations, a rehearsal dinner with a performance by Lana Del Rey was held at the Palace of Versailles in Paris.

The next day, guests were flown to Florence on a private jet to see the couple tie the knot, where a bespoke flower wall served as a backdrop on the 16thCentury fortress.

Kim walked down the aisle in a Givenchy wedding dress by Riccardo Tisci while she was being serenaded by Andrea Bocelli.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

The couple exchanged “I do’s” in the Villa Pizzo on Lake Como.

The anointed “Mayor of Twitter” ran out of everything and had three Vera Wang dresses ready for the day – the final number was a red studded dress she wore for her and John’s first dance.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt

We will always have a special place in our hearts for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, who married in 2000, only to have broken hearts five years later when they separated.

It has been estimated that the celebrations cost around $ 1 million (about R14 million), including 50,000 flowers, to achieve the zen garden ambience they planned.

Amal Clooney and George Clooney

Hollywood bachelorette George Clooney finally said “I do” in 2014 at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice.

Amal was stunned in a Bardot-necked French lace Oscar de la Renta dress while George rocked a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky

Elizabeth Taylor’s eighth and final marriage was to construction worker Larry Fortensky, and the wedding ceremony was held at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.

The bride donned a pale yellow Valentino lace dress for the ceremony, which was attended by a few prominent names, including Liza Minnelli, Dianne Von Furstenburg, and Brooke Shields. Elizabeth sold the wedding photos to People Magazine for $ 1 million (approximately R14 million) and used the money to set up the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Rose Leslie and Kit Harrington had the most elegant wedding in Scotland, attended by their Game of Thrones co-stars. The reception was held in the grounds of Wardhill Castle, part of the Leslie family’s 900-year legacy.

Victoria and David Beckham

David and Victoria Beckham – also known affectionately as Posh and Becks – tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle on the outskirts of Dublin. The Robinhood style wedding was completed with accents of burgundy, dark green, and purple.

The founder of her own fashion label of the same name, Victoria, wore a Vera Wang dress with a 20-foot train for the occasion.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z

When Beyoncé and Jay-Z exchanged vows at the groom’s Tribeca penthouse, only 40 of her closest family members and friends received invitations.

The multi-award winning artist had her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, design her wedding dress. But while it was a quiet affair, the bride had an air of extravagance and flown in 70,000 of her favorite flowers – white dendrobium orchids – from Thailand.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish

Sir Elton John and David Furnish tied the knot in 2014 in a star-studded ceremony attended by guests including the Beckham family, Donatella Versace and Claudia Schiffer.

They saved up on the venue and partied all night at the couple’s Windsor mansion, but when it came to food and drink, they splashed a staggering $ 130,000 (about 1.9 million rand) on pink champagne and caviar.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas

The wedding of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra was a three day event that demonstrated a perfect amalgamation of their religions with Hindu and Christian ceremonies.

The wedding of the Bollywood star and the boy band Heartthrob took place in the dreamy Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. Priyanka’s dresses featured a mix of Indian and Western designers – one was a red lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and the other was a custom dress by Ralph Lauren.
