MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – After a year of last minute cancellations and changes, a busy wedding season is months away after Covid restrictions eased.
Everyone lost everything they had planned. It was so scary to jump into that mix, ”said Cody Biedrzycki, future groom.
The Wisconsin couple plan for the future when the future is unknown.
“I would rate it 90 percent nervous. I’m 10 percent excited, ”said Kailey Huba.
Biedrzycki and Huba got engaged in Madison in December 2019.

First they were supposed to get married in Barbados, but Covid crashed their wedding.
Almost a year and a half later, they decided to have an outdoor wedding in Wisconsin.
Huba said the guest list for the wedding ceremony stayed the same, but she added names to the guest list at the front desk after Covid restrictions were relaxed.
“We only hope for this special day that every couple is hoping for,” said Biedrzycki.
Dane County’s wedding venues also hope for the best.
“We came back from vacation and started building the barn, then came Covid,” said David Wood, co-owner of Barnwood Events.
Barnwood owners said that if the cap is no longer used for outdoor gatherings, Dane County’s public health will bring more weddings to the barn.
“We’re getting more calls because people are hoping they can plan and move on with their plans,” he said.
The Woods said the precautions have been taken by Covid and they look forward to hosting their first big wedding in April.
“We’re excited,” said Julie Wood, co-owner of Barnwood.
“We wanted to make sure people had options and were comfortable. When the rules change and become more relaxed, we can do more for people, ”said David.
“It was a learning experience for both of us and we were very supportive of each other and that is ultimately the most important thing,” said Huba.
The Dane County Public Health Order lifts the outdoor capacity and mask requirements next Wednesday.
This arrangement only applies when people can remain socially distant.
