Lauren and Sam from Preston, Lancs., Decided to play it safe and have a small wedding with 30 guests nearby on November 5th.

However, the latest guidelines allow a maximum of 15 guests to attend, and ongoing uncertainty about upcoming lockdowns has once again upset the couple’s plans.

Lauren said, “You really can’t write this situation. We’re just weeks away from our wedding now, wondering if we can ever get married.

“I know a lot of people had to cancel, but it was just one thing at a time for us.

“I tried to find my way around every challenge. I was so busy getting something working that I had no chance to realize how much joke it was all.

“Our ordeal was nothing short of a nightmare.”

Lauren McCart Sam Murray has gone through a nightmare since they got engaged in 2018.

The couple had originally planned to book a number of entertainment staff for their wedding night, including a photo booth and caricature artists. They both cost more than £ 1,000 and are no longer in business because of the pandemic.

Determined to keep their faith and spirits high, the two booked a relaxing trip to Croatia to escape the stress of wedding plans and were hit by news that flights would not resume until three days after their departure date on June 18 should be.

A Mediterranean cruise in May of next year and a five-star stay on the Amalfi Coast were also on the program for their honeymoon, which TUI canceled because the cruise ship had shut down.

Those three trips and the canceled Vegas vacation mean Lauren and Sam have had four potential honeymoons.

The couple are hoping to move on Nov. 5, but added that due to lockdown restrictions, they are not even sure this will work.

She said, “We’d always joked and said that because of all the speculation we didn’t know if the wedding was going to take place.

“We mastered every challenge and were determined to make it the best wedding ever for 15 people.

“We just don’t know what’s going to happen, which is so frustrating.

“The lockdown and stress of planning our wedding brought us together so much and we honestly are the strongest we’ve ever been and just want to get married.

“The weddings for 2021 in our region are now quite fully booked due to the high number of weddings that have already been postponed. Realistically, we could not get married next year, so we would have to wait another 18 months.

“Our ordeal was nothing short of a nightmare and we still have no guarantees.”
